OMRAN Group signs MoUs with TRANSOM Handling

MUSCAT –  Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group) – the executive arm of the Sultanate for tourism development – signed today a series of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Oman Ground Handling (TRANSOM Handling), a subsidiary of Oman Airports, with the aim of strengthening the partnership between OMRAN Group and the Aviation sector.

The agreements will serve the travel and tourism value chain through various services and products.

The agreements were signed by Hashil Obaid Al Mahrouqi, CEO of OMRAN Group, Shabib Mohammed Al Maamari, Managing Director of the National Travel Operator (Visit Oman) and Saud Abdulaziz Al Azizi, Executive Director of TRANSOM Handling at the Majan Lounge in Muscat International Airport. The agreements come in line with the objectives of the National Tourism Strategy 2040 to enhance the experiences of travelers and tourists in the Sultanate.

The first agreement signed between both parties aims to offer services to OMRAN Group hotels’ guests by enabling them to use the facilities at Majan Lounge in Muscat International Airport. The second agreement laid down the scope of the registration of Majan Lounge’s services on the National Travel Operator platform ‘VisitOman.om’. The third agreement will pursue opportunities to provide a host of incentives and facilities to OMRAN Group and its subsidiaries.

By partnering with TRANSOM Handling at Oman Airports, we are able to support the linkage across the value chain of the promising local travel and tourism sector, expand business and create new advantages. Commenting on the signing of agreements, the Managing Director of the National Travel Operator (Visit Oman) said, “The ‘VisitOman.om’ portal is aimed at creating a digital linkage between Omani travel and tourism service providers and commercial trade partners in the key target markets. With the addition of Majan Lounge to the platform, we aim to enhance the journey of travelers through Muscat International Airport by giving them the opportunity to experience premium facilities.”

On his turn, the Executive Director of TRANSOM Handling, said “We are delighted to join hands with OMRAN Group and are certain that this partnership will result in the creation of more innovative opportunities in the future. These agreements reflect a shared vision between the companies where the ultimate objective is to enhance the tourism sector.”

Earlier in the year, OMRAN Group announced the brand identity of the National Travel Operator, ‘VisitOman.om’ which is the first integrated digital platform dedicated to serving the travel and trade networks. Registration is still available to partners in the travel and tourism sector in international markets, as well as the local suppliers operating in the Sultanate, aiming to launch all platform services during Q4 of this year.

Setting a new benchmark for hospitality at Muscat International Airport, the Majan lounge provides 24-hour services with a diverse range of amenities that cater to the various needs of travelers. Keeping in mind the culture and preferences of travelers, the lounge ensures consistent, high-quality services with a comprehensive selection of facilities.
