Musical Arts Exhibition, Music Library to open on June 1: ROHM

MUSCAT —The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) will open the doors of a brand-new Music Library and Exhibition of Musical Arts tomorrow (Wednesday).

The exhibition is titled: “Oman and the World: A Musical Journey”. The House of Musical Arts aims to provide an extensive resource for educational enrichment.The Exhibition of Musical Arts explores the unique story of music across the world. Told from the perspective of Oman’s musical traditions, it has been specially curated as the first of its kind, an incredible immersive and interactive audio and visual experience.

Visitors of the exhibition can discover how music brings people together, how it developed around the world and what it means to all people. The exhibition comprises six sections on music’s history, namely Nature, Science, Instruments, Community, Connections, and Performance.

The visitors can delve deeper into the unifying language of music and discover more about great artists from Oman and the region. Oman and the World reflect how the arts enable people to celebrate shared heritage to consolidate the principles of love, peace, and tolerance among the world’s peoples. The newly created Music Library allows visitors to browse music scores from across the globe. Music and opera are the core of the collection, but information on stage design, costume design and other stagecraft subjects is also available, along with children’s books on artistic topics.

The opening of the Exhibition of Musical Arts and Music Library marks another landmark moment in the history of the ROHM.
