MUSCAT – The Indian Science Forum (ISF), which is under the Indian Social Club (ISC), Oman, will be organising its first event – the ISF Igniter online quiz 2022 this month (October), organisers announced here recently.
Three-day event
The ISF Igniter 2022 will be conducted over a span of three days by Hala Jamal, a popular quizmaster of Oman and will be open to participation for students from grades 5 to 12 currently enrolled in Indian schools in Oman. Teams can register online through bit.ly/RegisterISF
Science-related programmes
The Indian Science Forum is a group formed under the ISC Oman in 2021.
The group is formed specifically to organise science-related programmes for the children and to identify and appreciate the youth having aptitude in science and technology to inspire and take science as their career, also to guide the younger generation to the modern world and equip them to face new challenges to move forward.
Promoting science and technology
“We have pleasure in announcing the ISF under the ISC Oman. We wish the team the very best and also urge all the young students to join and participate in this unique platform that would facilitate and promote science and technology in an interesting manner organising various science-related activities, competitions, digital symposiums, science skits and the likes in the following months,” said Babu Rajendran, honorary general secretary of the ISC, Oman.
Science Fiesta
“We believe the progress of humanity is based on the progress of science. The ISF is created specifically to organise science-related programmes and to identify and appreciate the youth; the younger generation should be oriented, groomed to think creatively, and through this platform of the ISF we hope to inspire them to indulge in science and technology fields, and to choose science as a career. The ISF will be launching Igniter Online Quiz this October, followed by a range of activities and events, finally culminating in a gala event — the Science Fiesta,” said Dr J Retnakumar, coordinator of the ISF.
Suresh Akkandathil and Latha Sreejith are the administrative coordinator and co-coordinator respectively of the ISF.
