Bank Muscat and Meethaq Islamic Banking to showcase digital banking services in COMEX 2024

MUSCAT – Bank Muscat and Meethaq Islamic Banking have announced their participation in the 33rd edition of COMEX, which will be held from May 27– 30, 2024 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. This year’s edition will be attended by more than 100 local and international organisations, government entities and corporates. Bank Muscat and Meethaq will showcase the wide selection of services and digital banking solutions developed to enhance customer experience. 


The 4-day long exhibition is an opportunity to introduce customers to the role the Bank takes to enhance digital services, and demonstrate its state-of-the-arts products, financial facilities and digital services offered through Internet Banking and Mobile Banking. Customers will be able to visit the team present at the exhibition and get to know more details about the digital banking services offered and the recent solutions added to provide a seamless banking experience and a more facilitated payment process. 


Bank Muscat has been witnessing a remarkable rise in e-channels usage over the past couple of years. Today, customers are using various features like real-time bill payments for utilities in Oman, fund transfers within the bank and in Oman, fund transfers across the world via the SWIFT network; speed transfers to a number of countries including Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka; Zakat calculator and charity payments. Bill payment facility is available for a variety of utility services such as electricity, water, telecom, mobile top ups, instant credit card bill payments, school payments etc. Internet banking and the mBanking app also allow customers to disable or enable their debit card for international usage adding an extra layer of security for the benefit of customers. Customers can also update their KYC details online and benefit from the different services provided by the new Self-service Kiosks.


Similarly, Meethaq has significantly enhanced its customers’ digital experience by elevating its Mobile App and Internet banking platforms through digital transformation. With state-of-the-art features such as utility payments, fund transfers between accounts, PASI payments, Credit Card outstanding payments and the ability to open savings and fixed deposit accounts, customers will enjoy unprecedented convenience and flexibility in managing their finances. Moreover, Meethaq has implemented enhanced security features to safeguard customers’ sensitive information, ensuring peace of mind while banking online. Additionally, customers can now conveniently request Debit Cards, seamlessly link Debit Cards to multiple accounts, reserve safe deposit lockers and purchase gift vouchers for popular platforms such as Apple iTunes, Google Play, PlayStation, Xbox and Steam.
