MUSCAT – The first repatriation chartered flight organised by World Malayalee Council (WMC) took off today (June 28, 2020) at 1.30pm from Muscat International Airport. The Spice Jet flight carrying 174 passengers (2 infants) was in association with Khimjis House of Travel and supported/coordinated through the Indian Embassy Muscat for all approvals. “We are planning four more flights to help Keralites return back to their homes safely in this critical stage of the pandemic. All safety precautions will be adhered to. We thank our Indian Ambassador and the Embassy officials for the support and cooperation extended” said Thomas John, chairman, WMC.
The repatriation process for the flight was coordinated by all WMC officials including Sam David Mathew, president, Hareesh Varikkat, general secretary, Dr John Philips Mathew, Advisory board chairman, Rona Thomas, cultural secretary, Roji Thomas, Youth Wing and Tibin Sam, Member.
