Oman participates in the preparatory session for 27th GCC Information Ministers’ meeting

DOHA – The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Information, today participated in a preparatory session for the 27th meeting of GCC Ministers of Information.


Oman’s delegation at the preparatory session, held in Doha, Qatar, was headed by Mohammed Said Al Balushi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information.

The officials looked into several topics on the agenda, namely establishing regulatory measures for electronic commercial advertising on social media sites and platforms in member states; drafting a public awareness plan for the protection of morals and social upbringing inculcation of the GCC ethical identity. It also touched on developing an initiative to ensure “digital safety” for children in member states.


The meeting also discussed the production of a joint radio drama and the compilation of radio programmes targeting the youth segment and exploring their interests in the fields of technology, artificial intelligence and digital economy.

The officials also considered organising a joint TV broadcast that coincides with the upcoming 45th session of the GCC Supreme Council.
