MUSCAT – The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation today invited interested competitors to contest the 2024 National Award for Research. Applicants may contest this 11th edition of the award from today (May 12, 2024) until July 11, 2024, the Ministry explained.

The award seeks to encourage researchers to conduct high-standard scholarly research studies that deal with national priorities and publish them in specialized journals. The award lends support to scholars, researchers and innovators and motivate them to conduct sound research that provides practical solutions to national and global challenges.

The award also seeks to develop research talents, enhance awareness about the importance of scholarly research and support the publication of national research papers in highly-rated scientific journals.

The National Award for Research falls in two categories: (1) The Best Published Research that is submitted by holders of the doctorate (PhD) in the medical field or its equivalent (senior consultants, specialists and other seniors); and (2) the Best Published Research submitted by junior researchers (who do not hold a PhD).
