MUSCAT – As the public in Oman get ready to brace the tropical storm Shaheen, which is expected to impact in the coastal areas from north Muscat and the governorate of Al Batinah by tomorrow (Sunday), some of them curiously turned up by the dozens before the Corniche in Muttrah to view the waves lash the walls.

Shaheen is said to include strong winds and cause heavy rains producing flash floods.

Government authorities have issued several safety messages and warnings to the public not to venture out during the period and to follow only direct official messages, statements and warnings and not pay heed to unofficial messages in this regard.
