MUSCAT – Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals launched the largest COVID-19 vaccination centre in the private healthcare sector of Oman at The National Museum, Muscat, Oman.

The COVID-19 vaccination centre at The National Museum was inaugurated by His Excellency Jamal Al-Moosawi, Secretary General, The National Museum, Oman and Dr Mazin Bin Jawad Al-Khabouri, Director General – DGPHE, Ministry of Health, Oman. This program was attended by executive directors of Badr Al Samaa, Moiden Bilal and Firasath Hassan, CEO Sameer PT, COO Jacob Oommen, CMO K O Devassy and other top officials. COVID-19 protocols were strictly followed during this brief event.

This exclusive collaboration by Badr Al Samaa and The National Museum comes in the wake of rising cases of COVID-19 infections especially the rising number of hospital admissions. This will currently cater to corporate and company employees and gradually, with the support from MoH, on spot COVID-19 vaccination will be made available.

The managing directors of Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals, Abdul Latheef and Dr P A Mohammed said that during this steep rise of number of infected cases there are only two ways to control; aggressive vaccination and strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols. Badr Al Samaa Since being the largest healthcare provider cater to majority of population for vaccinations in private healthcare. Such initiatives will go a long way to speed up the national vaccination program and hence save many lives.

His Excellency Jamal Al-Moosawi speaking on the occasion said, “It is a great opportunity for The National Museum to be associated with Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals in this national COVID-19 vaccination program and contribute towards fighting this pandemic. People who come here for vaccination will also get the glimpse of the rich culture and heritage of this great nation.”

Dr Mazin Bin Jawad Al-Khabouri on this occasion said, that private healthcare is now shoulder to shoulder with MoH in COVID-19 vaccination drive and Badr Al Samaa is the major contributor. Such initiatives to open large vaccination centre will give thrust to the program and we can reduce the burden from government vaccination centres and reach out to maximum population in less time. He appreciated the operational efficiency of Badr Al Samaa in conducting the vaccination drive and appreciated new ideas like this.

Currently Badr Al Samaa, at The National Museum, is aiming to reach 2,000 vaccines doses in a day, which will be the largest in one centre across private healthcare of Oman. The aim is to speed up and complete the first dose for companies, while getting prepared for second dose.

The ministry of Health and Directorate of Private Health Establishments is extending full support to private healthcare establishments to expand the program. Along with this centre, COVID-19 vaccinations are happening at all 13 centres of Badr Al Samaa, on-site locations, Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, labour camps, etc. Badr Al Samaa is taking the lead and has already done around one hundred thousand total vaccinations till now, maximum in private health of Oman.
