The Myriad Muscat, Oman’s first-ever female-only residential living community complex, has taken the number one spot in the market within few months of its operation and the promoters of this dedicated housing in Muscat are happily juggling high demand and excellent feedback, a top official of the property said.
“After just a few months of operation, and despite the challenges of the global pandemic, we have risen to the number one spot in the market with high demand, thanks to the unique concept that fills the gap in the market for this dedicated housing concept, targeting ladies only. Residents and visitors are giving a very positive feedback, with a prominent number of future leads,” Vikram Rao, CEO, The Myriad, told the Black & White.

The Myriad Muscat’s emergence in the real-estate landscape serves to answer all demands and solve lack of high-quality ladies’ accommodations in Muscat, Rao noted.

Is this the first-ever female-only residential living community complex in Oman, and in the region?
Our exclusive new residential complex, The Myriad Muscat, is currently present in three different continents inclusive of new expansions to Saudi Arabia and South Africa. The Myriad Muscat is the first registered all-ladies’ accommodation in Oman.
What is the reason for the promoters to think about providing such a female-only residential complex in Oman? Was there a big demand?
The reason behind this project is to answer all demands and solve the lack of high-quality ladies’ accommodations in Muscat. The Myriad Muscat is based in a strategic location in the heart of Al Khoudh close to the Knowledge Oasis, Sultan Qaboos University, and Halban Colleges (Bayan College, Oman College of Management and Technology, German University of Technology), which has a heavy population of students, employees and faculty members. The Myriad Muscat is solving the high demand as the property can accommodate up to 2700 ladies.
What exactly is this concept about and in a modern setting, what prompted the need for such a venture? Was it considering the safety reasons; for privacy; for providing a free, comfortable, and stress-free setting for ladies?
The community aims to maximise the residents’ comfort and convenience by providing facilities and services to enable residents to easily complete day-to-day tasks. Residents will be able to take advantage of fully-equipped laundry rooms, a two-storey mall and versatile breakout spaces on each residential floor. These breakout spaces include cooking stations for residents to prepare meals in a social setting, as well as comfortable seating where they can gather to mingle and study.
The Myriad Muscat also provides various recreational and leisure facilities for their residents. The property’s mall will offer restaurants, cafés, supermarkets, study and work spaces, health and beauty services and much more.
Fitness is an important element of a young individual’s life, which is why we believe it is important to make sporting facilities easily accessible at the property. The Myriad Muscat will include an all-ladies fitness centre as part of the two retail floors of the community.
The property is said to be designed to serve as a “launch pad for young ladies”. Would this imply any restriction or an entry only for young women?
Ladies of all ages and nationalities are welcome to stay at the residential complex.
The property is safe and secured 24/7. We have a security team in place. The residential complex can be accessed by access card only, which is given to residents upon check-in. Men are not allowed to enter the residential floors. However, the mall caters for everyone. We have separate elevators for the shopping mall and different ones for the residential complex.
Are single mothers with young boys allowed to reside in this complex? What exactly are the dos and don’ts?
Yes they are and children up to the age of 12 (maximum one child per room) can be accommodated free in the single room type of rooms in the executive block. Male children, residents or visitors up to the age of six, will be allowed within the residential levels of the property – as The Myriad Muscat is an all-female accommodation.
What about the staff and complex guards… Will they also be a ‘women-only’ brigade?
All customer-facing employees are ladies, including security, however there are occupations and tasks, mainly maintenance related, which cannot be managed by female employees. In these cases, a female staff has to be present while the necessary works are carried out.
When will the residential complex and the shopping mall become operational, or are they already operational?
The residential complex opened its doors in September, last year. We have three different blocks: A block is assigned for executive and premium single rooms, B and C for sharing rooms; double, triple and quadruple rooms.The shopping mall opening will take place in phases, with the first outlets, such as the all-ladies gym, by this summer. In the meanwhile, some shops are already operating, such as the laundry, or will be opening their doors individually soon, such as coffee shops and eateries.
Will the property offer single/double/triple bedroom units… What exactly will be the offers and will the rates be in line with the current market rates in Oman?
The property is offering single, double, triple and quadruple rooms with sharing kitchen and living areas on each floor. We are offering the best introductory rates in the market, granting our residents the best quality and value for the best price.
Features vary according to the selected room type; however, the following inclusions are present for all room types: En-suite bathroom, utilities, Wi-Fi, IT helpdesk, weekly cleaning, access to common residential facilities, bed(s), storage space, nightstand, study desk with chair, blinds, bins, in-room phone and a fridge.
Have bookings begun and what is the response like?
