Schools to be suspended tomorrow in Oman, except Dhofar and Al Wusta

MUSCAT – The Ministry of Education announced the suspension of schools in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman tomorrow “Monday”, with the exception of the governorates of Dhofar and Al Wusta.


The decision was based on a weather statement indicating that Oman will be affected by heavy rains and rough climatic conditions.


The statement reads as follows: “With reference to Alert No. (1) issued by the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre, and to follow-up reports of the Ministry’s Central Committee for Emergency Situations Management regarding the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman being affected by the depression and, out of the Ministry’s concern for the safety of students, it was decided to suspend classrooms in all public, private and international schools in the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, with the exception of the governorates of Dhofar and Al Wusta tomorrow, Monday, 12 February 2024. Classrooms will be resumed after tomorrow Tuesday, 13 February 2024”.
