GUDERMES — The Special Operations team of the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has been crowned with first place in the overall standings of the International Open Tactical Shooting Championship for Special Operations Teams, which was held at the grounds of the Russian University of Special Forces in the city of Gudermes, Chechen Republic.
The championship witnessed the participation of 41 teams from special forces units and elite teams, alongside military and security tactical teams from the Chechen Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, and a number of Asian and Gulf states. The championship comprised eleven tactical competitions and events, encompassing marksmanship, field skills, and a number of scenarios simulating real-world operational conditions and tasks in line with the nature of work of special operations teams and tactical units.
The Royal Oman Police team’s first-place victory came after intense competition that spanned the days of the championship. Throughout the event, the participants achieved advanced results across various competitions. They ultimately secured the top position in the overall standings and claimed a number of awards and trophies. In doing so, they finished ahead of the participating teams from various international military and security agencies.
