MUSCAT – With the idea of utilizing the lockdown days in a productive and entertaining manner, Nexus Novel Advertising (NNA), Muscat, Sultanate of Oman has designed an online live quiz contest, ‘#QuizLive’, to be held from August 21 onwards. Registrations for the quiz, open to all, will begin on July 24, 2020 at its website, http://nnaquizlive.com/ To take part in the event, each team, not more than 2 persons, will have to pay an entry fee of OMR 10 / USD 26.
#QuizLive has been drawn up in such a way as to help those competing teams to take part sitting in the comforts of their homes. The quiz will be live and interactive on a video-conferencing platform (Zoom), and will be international in nature and open to all nationalities, age and gender. According to the organisers, the prelims for the quiz will be held on Friday, August 21, at 4:30PM Oman time; the semi-finals on Saturday, August 22, at 4:30PM Oman time, and the finals on Friday, August 20, 2020, from 4:30PM Oman time onwards.
According to Mobin Beg, head of Nexus Novel, “The quiz is aimed at helping residents of Oman to update their general awareness and knowledge of current affairs and use the lockdown days in a productive manner. All are invited to take part in this enlivening event for which exciting prizes are up for grabs. Our philosophy is to ring in ‘edutainment’ events for all age groups. The quiz will be hosted by celebrated quizmaster Murli Pillai who is no stranger to Oman. He was a resident of Muscat from 1999 to 2019. During his stint in Muscat, Murli has conducted over 200 quizzes. Since his return to India, his new venture, LetsGetQuizzical, has been conducting quizzes for leading schools, youth hostels, corporates and private groups in Muscat, Doha, Dubai, Singapore, USA, Canada, India, etc.
Murli Pillai’s quizzes are both general as well as theme-based (domain-specific), covering varied topics like Entertainment, Sports, Music, Literature, History, Geography, Technology, etc., and are renowned for their multi-tiered content with major focus on audio-visual content.
