MUSCAT – Eid Al-Adha celebrations kicked off in various wilayats of the Sultanate of Oman amid active commercial engagements marked by a festive mood that is manifested in cultural, social and sports events.
In North A’Sharqiyah Governorate, like other parts of Oman, many villages and wilayats organized open souqs (markets) and tents that attracted large numbers of shoppers eager to collect their Eid supplies.
Most of the Eid products are provided by owners of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and artisans who acted in line with the traditional culture of entrepreneurship. The exhibits included ready-made wear, perfumes and household supplies. Self-employed families also showcased products from the Omani cuisine and local crafts.
Acting in cooperation with members of the public, the municipality department in the Wilayat of Nakhal, Governorate of South Al Batinah, is bracing for two pre-Eid souqs ahead of the Eid day. The first pre-Eid souq is the Souq Saabi’ and the second one is the main Eid gathering (Eid Al-Adha Habta) souq due to be held tomorrow Friday, June 14, 2024, by the side of Nakhal Fort.
In A’Dhakhikiya Governorate, the Municipality is preparing to welcome the blessed days of Eid Al Adha. It is intensifying cleanliness in public places and organising popular celebrations and traditional livestock sale souqs.
