MUSCAT – Analysis made by the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre at the Civil Aviation Authority shows that the peak of the forthcoming adverse weather condition will begin at noon tomorrow, Thursday, May 2.

The precipitation is likely to pervade the governorates of Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, South Al Batinah, A’Dakhiliyah, Muscat and North A’Sharqiyah, with rainfall ranging between 20mm and 80mm.

Nasser Said Al Ismaili, Director of the Department of Forecasts and Early Warning System at the Civil Aviation Authority, told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the rest of Oman’s northern governorates will also be moderately impacted by the weather condition.

Al Ismaili pointed out that the rainfall will begin this evening (Wednesday 1 May 2024) and continue tomorrow and the day after, notably in mountainous areas in the governorates of South A’Sharqiyah, North A’Sharqiyah Al Wusta and all of the Hajar Mountains and Dhofar Governorate.

Clouds already started to flow over Dhofar Governorate, with chances that sporadic thunderstorms likely to cause valleys in the area to flow, Al Ismaili added.
