BERLIN – The Sultanate of Oman, represented by Special Olympics Oman, won four bronze medals as of the third day of the Special Olympics World Games – Berlin 2023, which is held during June17-25. The four medals were won by Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Balushi in the weightlifting competitions.
After division matches, the athletics team played in the semi-finals of the shot put game. Meanwhile, the swimming team played in the quarterfinals of the 50m breaststroke, 50m backstroke and 25m backstroke competitions.
Mohammed Sulaiman Al Abri took part in the singles matches of the bocce qualifiers. Special Olympics Oman also participated in the division matches of badminton, golf, sailing, tennis and roller skating.
The Omani Special Olympics delegation, which is participating in the Special Olympics World Summer Games, comprises 36 players with intellectual disabilities and 9 partner players. During the games, the delegation is participating in: athletics, unified badminton, unified bocce, bowling, equestrian, unified futsal, golf, weightlifting, roller skating, sailing, swimming, table tennis, and unified tennis.

It is worth noting that the World Summer Games in its current edition includes 26 Olympic sports, with the participation of 7,000 men and women with mental disabilities from 190 countries, in addition to the contribution of nearly 20,000 thousand volunteers in organizing this global event.
