Nizwa — The Higher Judicial Institute welcomed the first batch of trainees comprising 24 newly appointed assistant judges enrolled in a two-year postgraduate diploma programme in judicial sciences.
The course, which coincides with the establishment of the Department of Investment and Trade, reflects the Institute’s commitment to provide specialized judicial training and enable graduates to address the emerging needs of society.
Dr Nabhan bin Rashid Al Maawali, Dean of the Higher Judicial Institute, said that the course embodies an institutional drive toward high-quality judicial training tailored to suit the intricate nature of investment and commercial disputes. Dr Nabhan noted that the initiative aims to develop national competencies that combine legal knowledge with understanding of the economic and commercial scenarios in a manner that raises the trainees’ ability to adjudicate specialized disputes more efficiently.
An orientation programme at the opening ceremony outlined the curriculum of the new course and the relevant academic and organizational regulations.
