MUSCAT – The FIH Hockey5s World Cup 2024 Championship, hosted by the Sultanate of Oman from January 24 to 31, 2024, kicked off in Muscat today with the start of women’s games.
Thirty-two international teams (16 men, 16 women) will compete to win the trophy of the hockey-five-asides “Oman 2024”, being played on Oman Hockey Stadium.
In the first day’s women matches, Ukraine defeated Australia 6/3, South Africa beat Fiji 9/1 and Oman lost to Malaysia 0/10.
The women’s group comprises the following teams: The Netherlands, Malaysia, Fiji, Oman, Australia, South Africa, Zambia, Ukraine, India, the USA, Poland, Namibia, New Zealand, Paraguay, Thailand, and Uruguay.
