MUSCAT – In line with its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and community service, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, and the Ministry of Social Development, have launched the Tadhamun programme for the eleventh consecutive year. The programme focuses on supporting social welfare and low-income families through distributing household appliances. This year, the bank is supporting about 206 families across Oman. It is particularly noteworthy that the Tadhamun programme has so far benefitted 3223 families since it was first launched in 2013.
A joint team has started distributing household appliances to the beneficiaries, including air conditioners and refrigerators and other necessary home appliances. Over 880 appliances will be distributed to families across Oman. This year’s programme is being implemented in cooperation with specialists from the Ministry of Social Development, who received applications and finalised the list of families entitled for the benefits.
Speaking on the occasion, Talib Saif Al Makhmari, Head, Community & Media Relations, Bank Muscat, said: “In line with its pioneering role in Corporate Social Responsibility and community service, Bank Muscat is keen to continuously implement its CSR programmes and initiatives to better support the community and leave a long-term positive impact. Bank Muscat runs a number of long-term social responsibility projects including Green Sports, Al Wathbah SME Academy, the Maliyat financial literacy programme and Irshad financial coaching, which are all aimed at supporting different segments of Omani society. Recently, the bank extended its support to 20 youth sports teams as part of its flagship Green Sports programme. The bank has celebrated recently the graduation of 23 entrepreneurs of the Advanced Program. The entrepreneurs had an extensive training courses for a period of 6 months where they learnt about management, finance, marketing and other fields, through workshops, lectures, panels and practical training.
