WASHINGTON – Instagram has begun testing a new feature called ‘Ad Breaks’.
These ad breaks are unskippable ads that interrupt users’ browsing experience, forcing them to watch an ad for around three to five seconds before they can continue scrolling and viewing posts.
Meta relies heavily on advertisements to maintain the continuity of its free services and achieve profits, as advertisements are an essential part of the company’s business model and its various platforms. It precisely targets users based on their interests and activity on those platforms.
Meta has not officially approved the inclusion of ad breaks in the user experience on Instagram, but it is currently testing them in a limited number of accounts.
Ad breaks currently appear to be limited to a small group of users in order to test them to gauge reactions to them and evaluate their impact on advertising revenues.
