EXCERPTS:
Women’s Day generally brings forth many thoughts: women’s equality/gender parity; women’s rights and the foremost need to break the bias (against women). Here, in Oman, could we say that it is more than just celebrating womanhood; here it is celebrating the success (various types of success, not just the monetary kind) of Omani women and also the unique integration between the two genders, who are working together to achieve a better future for Oman? Your thoughts on this.

This partnership can lead to a more sustainable and inclusive approach to development, aligning with Oman’s 2040. By acknowledging this collaboration on Women’s Day, we not only honour the accomplishments of Omani women but also promote a shared commitment to equality, empowering everyone to contribute to the nation’s growth.
How would you view the growth and advancement of Omani women in the last many years? What would you like to say about that?
Women are making remarkable strides across various sectors, driving the nation’s progress forward. From influential leadership positions to the forefront of male-dominated fields, women are reshaping the professional landscape. With strong government support and progressive policies, such as the introduction of a recent extension in maternity leave, we are aligning with global standards to champion the essential bond between mother and child.
Also, with regards to the advancement, would you say that today the Omani woman is on par with other women of the world? If not, what more should be done?
Omani women have made impressive strides, yet there are still areas where they may not be fully on par with women globally, particularly in leadership and representation. To advance further, there should be a focus on creating more mentorship opportunities, improving access to professional networks, and ensuring policies that support work-life balance. All of this should align with the overall Omani culture.
