MUSCAT – The Specialised Air Training Centre of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) celebrated the 50th anniversary of its establishment today. The ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Mohammed Nasser Al Zaabi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence.
The celebration, held at the Specialised Air Training Centre at Seeb Air Base, included the unveiling of the centre’s golden jubilee logo. A visual display that was presented at the ceremony featured the stages of development of the Specialised Air Training Centre. This was followed by the launch of a book titled “Specialised Air Training Centre, 50 years of resourcefulness: 1974 – 2024”. The ceremony also saw the launch of a postage stamp marking the centre’s Golden Jubilee.
The chief guest toured the exhibition which showcased various innovations and inventions.
The Specialised Air Training Centre has gone through many stages since its establishment in 1974. It started as the Technical Training School and evolved in accordance with the missions entrusted to it. The Specialised Air Training Centre supplies the RAFO with qualified personnel who operate in accordance with top quality standards.
