
MUSCAT – The Ministry of Labour announced that as many as 12,936 Omani citizens received jobs as part of a programme of employment and expatriate replacement in the government and private sectors during the first half of 2025.
Out of the total, the public sector provided 2,316 jobs, while the private sector provided 10,620 jobs, thus achieving 38 percent of the target rate.
The ministry explained that the total number of training opportunities coupled with employment stood at 4,292 (achieving 39 percent of the target rate). Of those, the government sector offered 473 training opportunities, while the private sector offered 3,819 training opportunities.
The ministry noted that the total number of employment and training opportunities reached 17,228, achieving 38.28% of the target. Meanwhile, total employment (including both first-time workers and those with prior work experience) stood at 35,807 jobs—comprising 17,228 first-time employment opportunities and 18,579 for individuals with previous work experience.
