MUSCAT – The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Social Development, today chaired the 43rd session of the Committee on the Status of Arab Woman at the Arab League. Oman’s delegation was headed by Dr. Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development.
During the meeting, which was held via video conferencing, Muscat was named the Capital of Arab Woman towards Creativity and Innovation “The Era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution”.
Further, the meeting reviewed the implementation of the sustainable development agenda for women in the Arab region 2030 and agenda of the women, security and peace as well as cooperation with international and regional bodies and international bilateral cooperation in the field of woman empowerment.
The Minister of Social Development delivered a speech of the Sultanate of Oman during the meeting, in which she said, “Partnership and cooperation among Arab countries under the umbrella of the Arab League to support Arab women contributes to and strengthens Arab cohesion and draws parallel steps for the progress and well-being of Arab women”.
She pointed out that the government of the Sultanate of Oman emphasizes that a safe life and dignity is the right of every human being, and many steps and measures have been taken within the framework of the implementation of “Oman Vision 2040”.
