MUSCAT — The 10th Sports Tournament of the GCC Universities and Higher Education Institutions will be launched at the Cultural Centre of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) tomorrow “Sunday, under the patronage of HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth.
The tournament, which runs till January 24, 2025, aims to enhance the fraternal bonds and boost cooperation in sports and culture among students of the GCC universities and higher education institutions.
In the tournament, the participating students will compete in different games, including athletics, swimming, football, basketball (3 × 3), volleyball, badminton, and table tennis. Competitions will be held in different stadiums, such as Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, A’Seeb Sports Stadium and the Military Technological College.
The tournament is an opportunity to hone skills of sport talents and promote academic and sports cooperation among the GCC universities and higher education institutions.
