HH Sayyid Theyazin flags off military discipline programme

MUSCAT – HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, today launched the Military Discipline Programme hosted by Dhofar Governorate from June 30 to July 24, 2024.


Organised to inspire Omani youth and achieve national goals, the programme is supervised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, with support from military and security units and other government institutions.


HH Sayyid Theyazin said in a press statement that the programme stems from the keenness of the government, under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik in promoting the authentic values ​​rooted in Omani society, notably youth who constitute the broad base of the population in Oman.


The Military Discipline Programme includes a set of activities designed to instill national cultural and social values within the framework of sporting patterns that embody self-discipline and groom the personality of the Omani youth, HH Sayyid Theyazin explained.


“Acting in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, military and security departments and other government institutions, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth focuses on factors of citizenship, identity, heritage and national culture when implementing the Military Discipline Programme, which comprises one of the objectives of Oman Vision 2040,” said HH Sayyid Theyazin, noting that the programme also lays emphasis on initiatives that encourage developmental investment in the youth sector.


HH Sayyid Theyazin added that the Military Discipline Programme targets 700 young people from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, with the prime aim of “making them role models in promoting acquired values”.
