Haitham Al Raisi – new president of ACFE

MUSCAT – Haitham Al Raisi, a renowned expert in fraud and financial crime, has been named as the president of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

Distinguished career
Before taking over as the president of ACFE, Al Raisi was the membership director and had a distinguished career in overseeing financial crime investigations and managing fraud risk programmes within the banking sector.

Outlined vision
In his first address as president, Al Raisi outlined his vision for the association, emphasising the importance of developing young Oman talent. “Our goal is to empower the next generation to contribute to Oman’s developmental goals, foster sustainable economic growth, and play an active role in the nation’s progress,” he said, adding that ACFE Oman will continue to be a vital force in promoting public awareness about fraud prevention, providing training, and facilitating professional development opportunities for its members in Oman. He noted that the leadership team is determined to further strengthen ACFE Oman’s role in combating financial crimes and supporting the growth of ethical practices across the nation.

New team
Alongside Al Raisi, a new team of board members has been elected to guide ACFE Oman in its initiatives for the coming term.
The newly appointed office-bearers are Fathiya Al Maskri, vice president; Afrah Al Ghafri, secretary; Sultan Al Hamdani, treasurer; Dr Iram Ansari, director training, research and development; Waleed Al Abri, director membership; Amal Al Kaburi, director sponsorship; Hassan Ahmed, director, media and programmes and Jose Chacko, past president and advisor.
