
MUSCAT – Bank Muscat has achieved a new milestone in its journey of excellence in digital banking. The Bank’s Mobile Banking Application has been awarded the “Mobile Banking App of the Year Award”, recently, subsequent to an evaluation conducted by the entity. The award was presented during a high-profile ceremony held under the patronage of H.E. Ahmed Jaafar Al Musalmi, Governor of the Central Bank of Oman, in the presence of senior officials and executives from various institutions across the Sultanate. The award was handed over to Abdulnasir Al Raisi, General Manager, Personal Banking at Bank Muscat. The Bank’s recognition came to underscore its continuous efforts to offer a secure, seamless, and customer-centric digital experience.
The accolade positions Bank Muscat as a pioneer in digital banking, renowned for its innovative and customer-friendly services. The Bank remains deeply committed to developing and enhancing digital solutions that align with Oman Vision 2040 and support the national drive toward digital transformation. Over the recent years, Bank Muscat has launched a multitude of digital services tailored for individuals and businesses, introducing a broad suite of banking solutions that meet the diverse and evolving needs of its customer base.
Bank Muscat provides over 200 features and services to customers through its Mobile Banking Application, making customer needs accessible on the go. The list of services available includes instant opening of savings account for adults and children, application and renewal of debit cards, tokenization of debit, credit and pre-paid cards, online generation of debit, credit, prepaid card PIN, apply for Mutual Funds, Themaar and Fixed deposit account opening, application for Credit card and Shukran prepaid card, guardians are able to view and perform transactions in minors account and open a Themaar Savings plan on children’s account, retrieve stamped account statements, delivery request to collect cards by courier, stop cheque requests, ROP fine payment, and update mobile numbers or email IDs and instant KYC update.
Customers can also utilise the app for accessing bill payment facilities across a variety of utility services such as electricity, water, telecom, mobile top ups, instant credit card bill payments, and school fees payments. Bank Muscat’s Mobile Payments option offers an easy mechanism to transfer money within Oman. Customers can also initiate mobile payment via QR code through Mobile Shake. The Bank’s Mobile Banking services also include speed transfers to a number of countries including India, Philippines, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Egypt and Bangladesh, as well as international transfers to more than 70 countries. Other features offered through the application include a Zakat calculator and facility for charity contributions. Recently, the Bank launched the Eidiya Pay option for children to receive Eidiya with the sender scanning of QR code.
