MUSCAT – Bank Muscat recently received the prestigious Platinum Award from Infosys Finacle, recognising its significant increase in mobile banking application users. This accolade highlights the Bank’s unwavering commitment to enhancing customer experience and delivering innovative services that adapt to the evolving needs of its clientele.

The mobile app boasts a user-friendly interface and introduces cutting-edge features, including biometric login options such as facial recognition and fingerprint authentication, ensuring secure and seamless access to banking services. The latest version of the app has undergone extensive enhancements, improving the design and functionality of over 200 banking services, all aimed at offering a cohesive and integrated user experience that underscores the bank’s dedication to innovation and excellence.

Customers can now enjoy a wide range of services, including card encoding through mobile banking, instant account openings for children, and the ability to create secure numbers for debit, credit, and prepaid cards. Other functionalities include opening a “Themar” savings plan account, applying for a prepaid “Shukran” card, making payments via Quick Response (QR) codes, obtaining stamped account statements, and submitting requests for card delivery by courier. Additionally, users can easily manage checks, pay fines to the Royal Oman Police, and update their contact information for credit and prepaid cards.

The application also facilitates payment for utilities such as electricity, water, telecommunications, and school fees, as well as enabling quick international transfers to countries including India, the Philippines, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Egypt, and Bangladesh, covering over 70 countries in total. Users can also access a Zakat calculator and donation services. The application features a modern homepage designed to facilitate easy access to the latest services and products offered by the Bank. It enhances user convenience by displaying card options tailored to specific categories. Customers can enjoy greater privacy with the option to show or hide their account balance within the app interface, as well as share essential account details such as name, number, SWIFT, and IBAN. The updated version also includes a customizable control panel with a side menu that highlights customer preferences and frequently used options. This new design is aligned with the growing number of customers utilizing the bank’s digital channels, reflecting the bank’s commitment to innovation and excellence in developing internet and mobile banking services as part of its customer-centric vision.
