MUSCAT — Under the umbrella of the ‘Alizz Cares’ Programme and as part of the banks ongoing commitment to sustainability, Alizz Islamic Bank in collaboration with the Environment Society of Oman (ESO), recently organised a beach cleaning campaign at Al Hail Beach.
The event witnessed the participation of dedicated volunteers from the Bank’s employees and their children, who came together to support this meaningful cause. Through their collective efforts, the team successfully gathered 100 kilograms of litter from the coastline, contributing to cleaner beaches and a healthier ecosystem. Eradicating debris detrimental to marine life, such as discarded fishing gear and plastic aligns with the ‘Alizz Cares’ pillar of ‘Environment’ which focuses on increasing awareness, reducing harmful practices and focus on environmentally friendly operations. In addition to the immediate environmental impact, eliminating waste that poses a threat to the coastal waters makes beaches safer for activities like swimming and fishing, thus promoting tourism and local economic growth.
Speaking about the initiative Lina Al Abdulsalaam, Head of Marketing and Communications at Alizz Islamic Bank said. “At Alizz Islamic Bank, we believe that protecting the environment is a shared responsibility. This initiative reflects our commitment to sustainability and to encouraging our employees and their families to take part in meaningful community activities that have a positive impact. We extend our gratitude to the Environment Society of Oman for their partnership and to all the volunteers who made this beach clean-up a success.”
