MUSCAT – Alizz Islamic Bank recently hosted His Eminence Sheikh Dr Ahmed Subhi Ahmed Ayadi to conduct a lecture on ‘Islamic financial engineering and Islamic alternatives to financial derivatives’ at the bank’s headquarters.
The lecture was part of ‘Manar Alizz’ initiative, which is the voice of the bank for cultural awareness about Islamic Banking and its principles. The programme aligns with the bank’s overall strategy of knowledge sharing. Alizz Islamic Bank continues to focus on developing and engaging employees and the public through interactive sessions on topics that interest them.
Speaking about the lecture Issa bin Salim Al Riyami, Head of Shari’a Compliance and Audit of Alizz Islamic Bank said “The lecture that was conducted today by His Eminence Sheikh Dr Ahmed Subhi Ayyadi described the Shari’a compliant alternatives that are available for customers. By devising innovative approaches and initiatives like ‘Manar Alizz’ we make sure to benefit society and fulfill the mission of Islamic banking. We believe in giving back through knowledge sharing, which will not only bring about positive change in the communities in which we live and work, but will have more far-reaching impact to enable individuals and businesses to thrive.”
Sheikh Dr Ayyadi holds a PhD degree in Islamic Economics from the University of Holy Quran in Sudan and a Master’s degree in Islamic Economics from Yarmouk University in Jordan. In addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Shari’a Studies from the University of Jordan.
Sheikh Dr Ayyadi is a member of several Shari’a committees in Jordan and has conducted various training session in the area of Islamic banking and finance. Sheikh Dr, Ayyadi has an extensive academic background and has supervised a number of PhD students. He has also published several books and articles in well-known journals and has presented several papers on Islamic banking and finance during international conferences.
