
MUSCAT — India’s External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr S. Jaishankar will pay an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman from July 9–10, 2026. The visit follows his visits to Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait from July 5–9, 2026.
During his visit to Oman, EAM will hold bilateral discussions with the Foreign Minister of Oman H.E Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi. The two sides are expected to review the full spectrum of India–Oman bilateral relations and take stock of the implementation of decisions taken during the visit of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to Oman in December 2025. This may also include the road map for the implementation of the India–Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which entered into force on June 1, 2026. The two Ministers will also exchange views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.
Following his visit to Oman, EAM will travel to New York to launch, on July13, 2026, India’s official campaign for election to the United Nations Security Council for the 2028–29 term. He will thereafter visit Brussels on 14–15 July 2026 to participate in the 3rd India–EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) Meeting and hold discussions with his counterparts from the European Union and Belgium.
The visit is expected to further strengthen the India–Oman Strategic Partnership and reinforce the longstanding friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
