
MUSCAT – Good news for children, as Muzn Islamic Banking of The National Bank of Oman (NBO) has launched a new Children’s Debit Card, designed for the young generation aged 7 to 17. Offered free of charge, with no minimum balance requirement, the Children’s Debit Card is globally accepted, enabling young customers to enjoy seamless and secure transactions locally and internationally, a top official said, adding, this initiative reflects Muzn Islamic Banking’s commitment to promoting early financial awareness.
Commenting on the launch, Salima Obaid Issa Al-Marzoqi, Assistant General Manager and Chief Islamic Banking Officer at the NBO, said, “At Muzn Islamic Banking, we believe that financial awareness should begin at an early age. The launch of the Children’s Debit Card supports families in guiding responsible spending habits, while giving parents peace of mind through secure monitoring tools.”
The card offers in-app parental monitoring features that help parents track transactions and manage spending, encouraging healthy money habits. Existing Muzn Islamic Banking customers can link their child’s account to their own by visiting their nearest branch and monitor their child’s spending and savings easily through the app. Cardholders can also benefit from debit cards offers and discounts, adding value to everyday use, the top official revealed.
Through this initiative, Muzn Islamic Banking continues to deliver customer-centric products that combine ethical banking principles, sustainability, and digital convenience, contributing to long-term financial well-being in line with Oman Vision 2040.
