
MUSCAT — The Royal Opera House Muscat celebrated another artistic success with the presentation of Roland Petit’s Coppélia, performed by the acclaimed Astana Opera Ballet Theatre and Orchestra under the masterful baton of Ruslan Baimurzin. Set to the enchanting score of Léo Delibes, the production delivered an unforgettable evening of humour, romance, and dazzling choreography that delighted audiences from start to finish.
This staging of Coppélia, brought to life through the iconic choreography of Roland Petit, one of the most influential figures in twentieth-century dance, offered a fresh yet respectful take on the beloved classic. The tale of youthful love, curiosity, and the mysterious ‘daughter’ of the eccentric doctor unfolded with charm and theatrical brilliance, captivating attendees.
