MUSCAT — Bait Al Zubair Foundation hosted an evening titled “Omanis in the Freedom Flotilla: Experience and Impact,” bringing together inspiring Omani voices who took part in the humanitarian mission to Gaza. The event comes as part of the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to cultural dialogue and its alignment with the Sultanate’s broader stance in support of the Palestinian cause.

The evening featured discussion panel with Dr. Umama Al Lawatiyah, Dr Saeed Al Maskari, and Eng. Jamal Al Raisi, three Omanis who participated in the Freedom Flotilla relief mission. The speakers shared personal testimonies of courage, compassion, and resilience reflecting on the challenges faced during their journey and the profound human and moral lessons they gained.

Omar Mohammed Al Mamari, Museum Manager, Bait Al Zubair Foundation, noted: “This evening allows us to revisit a powerful experience that revealed both the hardship and the hope within such missions. It reminds us that solidarity can mean risking one’s life for a message that may not change reality but stands as a pure act of humanity.”
Following the discussion, the event was complemented by the opening of the photography exhibition “Rajeen” by the Palestinian photographer Shadi Al Assar. The exhibition presents evocative scenes of Palestinian life, heritage, and perseverance strengthening the evening’s message of empathy and awareness. This initiative continues Bait Al Zubair Foundation’s series of cultural programs in support of Palestine. Notable previous events include an exhibition celebrating the late Palestinian artist Naji Al Ali, attended by his son Khaled Naji Al Ali, and showcasing works by artists who have transformed Handala into a lasting symbol of resistance and hope.

Through these initiatives, Bait Al Zubair Foundation reaffirms its belief in the power of culture, art, and dialogue to promote empathy and shared humanity bridging Oman with global humanitarian causes.
