SALALAH – The Environment Authority (EA), represented by the Directorate General of Environment in Dhofar Governorate, concluded a campaign to plant four million seeds of wild trees in the governorate.
The campaign was the carried out for the fourth year in a row. It was undertaken by the Environment Authority in cooperation with government departments, private establishments and local community groups.
The seed planting campaign coincides with the “National Initiative to Plant 10 million Trees”, which is aimed at expanding greenery, growing of fruit trees and combating desertification. The initiative seeks to achieve one of the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, namely the sustainability of the environment and natural resources.
